Accord Fogs Wiring Help !!!!

Well i know there are a whole bunch of threads that talk about this....I was thinking of doing a DIY on the install with the grill install but I am stuck at this point.....

Sorry I dont have pictures of the harness....its semi plugged in my car.....but check this picture out by someone else....

now the problem part....if am not using a switch.....i basically want my fogs to come on when i turn my sidemarkers on......so i plugged it into a 10A sidemarker fuse, but my fogs stay on all the while.....not i didnot use an extra fuse....i just wrapped the wire around on of the legs of the fuse(sidemarker fuse) and plugged it back in.....

as you see in the picture there are 3 wires....power/ground and fuse....i connected them as they should go (i think) but this problem persist....now my kit which i got from ebay comes with an inline 10A fuse and a relay.....

any guesses or suggestions or wiring experts in here please chime in??? coz i really need to get this done.....i laid the wire and everything to find out the fogs will stay on all the time.....lemme know if you need anymore information.....but i really need help with this.....Thanks !!!!

The green wire is the trigger for the relay. That is what needs to be connected to the parking light circuit in the under hood fusebox. The blue wire should be connected directly to the battery or the top screwpoint on the under hood fusebox (closest to the windshield). Make sure you fuse both power wires with 10amp fuses if you're using halogens. HIDs need 20amp.
Try to find the add-a-fuse connector that is shown in the pic---a much easier and cleaner connection than you are using. Advance Auto carries them.

so well

black goes to ground....
blue goes to power.....now the kit already came with an inline fuse 10A....which i will replace with a 20A (thanks )
green goes to the fuse or a circuit ???

i connected (wire around the leg, ) the green wire to the fuse (#4 which is 10A for the sidemarkers) and my fogs stay on all the time !!!!

It sounds like you got it right. Try looking here for more info on wiring:https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/sneek-peek-my-fog-relocation-mod-622925/
I used a switch for mine, so my install was different from yours.
I did want to mention that if you use the parking lights for your switched power source, the fogs will flash with your alarm setting. Ok if you use halogens, but a big no-no with HIDs.
What happens if you use the headlight fuse as your switched power?

see i tried using the switch but 2 things happened.....the switch didnt fit very flush, unlike the VSA.....so thought of dumping it.....

also if I use a switch....the green wire goes to the green of the switch....the black in the switch is ground....where did u put the red wire of the switch ???

I put it to a "not in use" fuse (again around the leg method)....and the fogs worked perfectly but the switch light was always lit....

so if your using the switch

black on switch and black on relay goes to ground (seperate ones)
red on relay goes to battery
green on relay goes to green on switch
red on switch goes ???

thanks a lot for your response man !!!!

Red on switch goes to ground. It grounds out either the switch illumination (on w/ parking lights) or the switch indicator light (on w/ fogs). Not sure which.

No---switch should have green, red, black, red w/ black stripe and solid blue.
Mine is wired as follows:
Green to relay
Blue to fuse #32 (in car fusebox) with 7.5A fuse
Red w/ black stripe to fuse #32 (same as blue)
Red and black to ground
This gives me fogs when I turn the key to ACC position and they do not flash when I set my alarm.
Underhood, I'm pulling power from the 10mm screw on the fusebox (20A fuse).

Now you have me confused!

I used the Accord Fog relay for my HIDs, which is what you pictured in your initial post.

I think you may have the eBay HID Wire Relay, which I also purchased but did not use. On that relay (which I have in front of me now) there is a fused red wire which should go to constant power. The grounds are out by the ballast plugs. There is another black plastic connector with a blue and a black wire which the instructions say plug into the "existing power wire from the HID kit. The power wire is the wire that was supplied on your HID kit that plugs between your factory harness (in my case, the Accord Fog harness) and the ballast. When using the HID wire relay, you will only use the one power wire closest to the battery. The power wire on the opposite side is no longer needed and can be removed." This confused the hell out of me, too. That's why I chose not to use that relay harness.

I guess you can cut that connector off, ground the black wire and run the blue wire thru the firewall to the green switch wire. You can test this by connecting the red to your battery, the black to ground. Hook up the bulbs and then touch the blue wire to the battery to see if the relay clicks and the lights turn on.

shit completely confused LOL

here lemme clear somethings out.....am using the EBAY FOG light wiring with HIDEXTRA HID kit....I did not have fogs in my car before

the underhood kit has:
red...black....green....2 sets of wires which run to the ballast(one for left and one for right).....inline fuse on the red....and a relay.....

connection which made the HID's work with the switch on and off, but the light on the switch was always on:
1> connect sets of wires to HID ballast....connect wires from ballast to hid bulb(come in HID kit)
2> red - 12V
3> black - ground
4> green - i run this inside the car and connect it to blue in the car

now the wires in the car
1> red - fuse
2> black - ground
3> blue - to the green on relay

now set up makes everything work but the switch light is always on

i think they missed out on the green wire in the inside switch relay....so that the green connects to green and blue hits the fuse.....but then red and blue both in the fuse ???

if you can also get a snap of how the connector behind the switch looks (as in the order of wires going in the connector of the switch) that would be great....

I owe you 1 man....a big one LOL !!! L

okay, maybe one of you can help me out. I have the ebay accord fogs, with an HID kit. I have tried many times before and have read every thread regarding the wiring, but still cannot figure it out. I have cut my wires apart, thinking I was going to figure it out but I havn't.

I bought the Accord switch from Honda for the interior becasue I did not want to use the one supplied with the kit.

I want to be able to turn my fogs on and off whenever I like with the switch. It's ok if the headlights have to be on, but I dont want my fogs on all the time.

Can someone please help me? lol thank you.

These are the wires comming from the relays and HIDS...

These are the wires comming off of the switch...

Please help me..any help will be great! Thank you all in advance...

here the left most red wire goes to fuse #32 by the drivers footwell....
the blue wire goes to the green wire on the second bundle of wires under ur hood
3rd is blank
4th red wire is connected to the first red wire....again so fuse #32
5th black wire hits the ground....

lemme know if this helps !!!

LOL thank you. I will have to try it Friday (its going to be MOD day). I cut the wires, becasue the green plug did not fit into the switch I bought from Honda, but the other one did.

On my switch, from left to right I have...
Blue - Goes to Green under the hood?
Yellow - Not sure...fuse 32?
Red - Fuse
White - Not sure (maybe not used for the switch)?
Black - Ground.

^^^^^That is what I am guessing. what do you think?

On your switch, from left to right u have...now colors dont matter position does....
Blue - throw it to fuse 32
Yellow - connect it to green under the hood
Red - Leave it unused at first....if shit works cool, leave it unconnected....if it doesnt work then ground it....if it works cool....else give it some juice....if it works cool.....turn the car off.....if things still work then throw it to the fuse 32 so they will work only when u turn the car on (personal choice).....
White - fuse 32
Black - Ground

How about the harness under the hood. The one that will connect to the HIDs and relays. I have

Green - Will go to switch
Blue - not used?

Red - Yellow - White. Am I connecting these to the battery or another fuse under the hood? Or do I have to tap into the parking lights?

Sorry, I've had no luck with any of this, and I want it all figured out. I'm usually pretty good with wiring, but idk, this one really has me guessing...

Here we go. I appreciate all the help Swoosh I was ready to sell everything lol.

The ground wire comes off the wires that are going to the bulbs. I did not do anything to the HID kit, so I have no problems there.

Yes, 10A is good for halogen fogs

What if im not useing the swtich? what do i do with the green wire then?

Green would go to your trigger circuit--i.e.: parking lights or headlights, depending on how you want them to function. Both of these circuits are in the under hood fusebox

and where does my relay plug into?

Not sure what you mean by this. All of the wiring should already be going into the relay. If you mean MOUNTING the relay itself, I used a bolt that was left over from my CAI install.

sorry im a nooob
Hope this helps

Yes, you always need a fuse when running direct from the battery. 10A for halogen, 20A for HID and make sure your wiring is rated for 20A for either (most fog wiring is good enough).
Get an Add-A-Fuse at Advance Auto or similar (its pictured in post #1 at the bottom center of the pic). If you want the fogs to come on with the parking lights, pull the appropriate fuse from the fusebox (#7, I think?), insert the fuse into the Add-A-Fuse, insert another fuse (this one can be 7.5A) and insert the whole shebang back into #7.

Seriously---go out and get the Add-A-Fuse and all will be clear. Its like $3.
