I have a 04 and it has 52k on it and my A/C compressor went out... Yeah Acura will not repair anything under the warranty....

I have a local mechanic who does all my work and he was looking for a good price on one. I the mean time I called Acura and it looks like the part alone is $831 and with install will be around $1600... WHAT!!

So, I found one on E-Bay for $230 it says new with a warranty. It is a Denso 10PA20C from some e-bay store front with a 97% satisfaction rating. Then I was going to have my guy install. The total would come in around $400 after install and everything.

Does anyone have any advice or experience with this situation that might save me some time? Thanks

 

what happened with the ac- did a seal blow? is it really the compressor? or just an o ring?
who and how diagnosed
what did the dealer tell you, or did you have them inspect it?
Normally if just past a warranty limit- the dealer will work to get acura to approve a goodwill warranty repair or some partial split
