AC Compressor/Clutch Issue?

Hi everyone!!
I have a 2006 TL with 230,000 miles. I have been having issues with my AC. It was blowing warm air and only sometimes would kick on cold. My mechanic says its an issue with the clutch not engaging on the compressor and that I should just replace the compressor instead of trying to fix the clutch. I purchased a re manufactured compressor from RY Compressors for 125$. Mechanic replaced it and charged the system. He said there are no leaks in the system either. After a day or 2 I started to get warm air again. The only way cold air blows is when I turn On and Off the AC about 20-30 times. Eventually it will turn on and blow cold. Either the clutch doesn't engage when electrical tells it, or something wrong with electrical.

Question now is, the mechanic over the phone is telling me that the compressor rebuild was bad and the clutch is bad on this one too. Do you think this is plausible as its a rebuilt part straight from RY Compressor, or do you think it can be another issue? I would like some things to go back to the mechanic with to check. I have an appt tomorrow. I also have a phone call with RY Compressor to talk about the issue and see if they will replace the part.

Has anyone seen this before and what has your issue been?

Thanks!
