8000k Bulbs for 04 TL
8000k Bulbs for 04 TL
Hey everyone, so if any of you have replaced your HID bulbs in an 04-08 TL, you know it's hell. Just finished the job and it was my first time doing it. Although, when I was finished I turned the lights on, expecting them to be very blue, but they were barely blue! They look like a cool blue, really, it's not a big difference from the OEM one's I previously had in. My question is, are they not as blue, because I need the HID kit? Do I need to replace the ballast, or anything like that to get the blue output I want? Because all I did was replace the bulbs, that's it. Thanks guys.
u have to take into consideration that the headlights are projectors, it bends the color in different angles. personally anything more blue than factory looks tacky anyways and your reducing the actual "brightness" of the lights so you see less. Again not liking the color is just personal but the "brightness" is fact.
^ Ditto.
Also, you might not see the color you want because you're probably up close to the vehicle. The projectors do change the lighting a little. I bet you would notice the difference if you had one of your old bulbs on one side and the new on the opposite.

and what bulbs did you buy?
all bulbs are not created equal.
so if you bought from a cheap manufacture; i'd be betting they were lying on the correct kelvin scale rating.
so, you went with less quality than OEM and on top of that reduced visibility by A LOT.
