6spd manual owners step in
6spd manual owners step in
I just put 300 miles today on a car and at the end of the day realized that my clutch pedal is giving off some kind of a vibration if slightly depressed. This is not my first car with manual transmission, so I am somewhat concerned. Is there may be something wrong with my TL or I'm just nitpicking?
The symptoms appear only if the clutch pedal is depressed just slightly beyong the regular "free play" region, but before the clutch disengagement point. My TL is an 06 with only 34k mi on it, and no work has been done to it exceot 3rd gear Acura overhaul TSB under wtty

Yes, if the release bearing is going bad, it could cause vibration. Might be worth it to bring it in, even if they don't find anything to be wrong at this time. This is just in case it gets worse, you at least have it on record in an early stage. At least that's what I was originally told about my 3rd gear problem, which was then fixed at a later date because it did get worse...
The clutch pedal isn't directly connected to the clutch itself, so you wouldn't be able to feel any feedback from it.
It's connected to a master cylinder, then hydraulically operated through a slave cylinder. Maybe check to see if the master cylinder or the linkage is loose?

I found this is happening at any speed, even when I am sitting at the red light, in any gear. Thanks for confirming that this is not expected for a TL. I will be checking the clutch fluid level tomorr and taking her to a dealer for the next oil change.
Mine is smooth as can be but I once had a Z34 with a 5spd and it had the same problem and they never could figure it out. They replaced everything from the clutch to the master and it always came back then blew apart the release bearing and fryed the clutch twice so I just got rid of the car lol... Have the dealer look at it just to be safe

Even a hydraulic connection is a direct connection. It is capable of sending feedback.
You would feel a vibration from the clutch assembly through the floorboard before through the actual pedal.
On my S2K (also a hydraulic clutch), many owners end up removing the slave cylinder so they can grease the pivot ball and release fork. After a while, it begins to bind. The chattering is transmitted through the hydraulic fluid and is easily felt on the pedal. However, the magnitude is probably a lot larger than just vibration (and it only occurs when the pedal is actual moving since the pivot is what binds).
