So, I've been experiencing some intermittent problems with my car as of late, and I'll be damned - I was 48 hours from scheduling a clutch replacement, when this happened.

SYMPTOMS
Gears: 2 - 4
RPM: 1000 - 2500
Idle: Smooth, 700 or so
Shifting: Clean, no odd pedal feel


When in this range, the car bucks like a goddamn rodeo bronco. Once past the RPM range, irrespective of gears, it's smooth again. 5th and 6th are ALL good. After about 30 mins or so of this, BOOM - VSA, CEL light up. Unplug the battery, and its gone. Clutch, right?

Well, this Friday I unplugged the battery to clear the CEL for the 'Gotta get to work Mondayism' (my brother was getting married, no time to pour over this), fired it up on Monday and the CEL was gone. Duh.

So was the bucking. Gone. JUST GONE.

Is this a loose cable or something else? I don't want to shell out $2k for a new clutch/fluwheel if she's still got life.

 

Sounds like the App sensor. Had a situation like this about 2 years ago, I thought my engine was blown. Replaced this as reccommended by others -fixed!
