5 TSB's and counting...

07 Type-S:

I've narrowed most of the issues down to existing TSB's which my Acura dealer is not helping me out with so far.

I am still having a problem with my windshield sprayers not working. Anyone have any suggestions or had the same problem?

Are you still under 50k? If so, then they have to fix it, for free. If not, then you have to pay them to fix it, or do the work yourself, following the procedure in the TSB.

That sounds like it may be a fuse-- do your car's power seat and mirror controls work? If not, it's likely a fuse.

If they work, check for pump motor noise when you activate the washer nozzles. If the pump motor works, check the fluid level, then the sprayer hoses for proper connections, crimping and the nozzles for wax/blockage.

Its been a while, but I finally got around to looking at the washers again. The fuse is good, just checked. I don't hear any sound from the pump, just a click from the solenoid or fuse from the box in the engine bay. I removed the power window/+B IG fuse and the click stopped. I also unplugged the washer pump and plugged it back in and still nothing.

I hate electrical, but I can figure most things out. How do I check if the pump is bad?

you can try to run wires directly from battery to the pump motor terminals.

just ordered a Trico replacement for $22 shipped from RockAuto.com. Acura wanted over $80 for the Denso OEM pump. I found OEM's online for $54, but I figured I would save on the Trico and should work fine.

1. 3rd gear grinds (Acura tech's "can't replicate it") taking it to a new shop... (70k warranty)
2. Purge Control Valve (80k warranty)
3. Power steering whine on cold start-up (out of warranty)
4. Seat back falls off (out of warranty)
5. Reset the automatic window close

None of them have been fixed yet, but I would like the first two to be done by an Acura dealer since its still under warranty. I should be able to take care of the others.

A local Acura dealer reported back to me that they could not replicate the 3rd gear grind issue so I took the car back home and dealt with it for a week more. I took it to another dealer an hour away and they told me right away that they found an issue with 3rd gear. They also told me that clutch was weak (which I suspected), and there may also be a problem with in the transfer case which may explain the whining when turning and not the power steering.

They also are fixing the PCV and hopefully only charging me the $550 for the clutch.

Don't know why the 1st dealer wouldn't jump on these. They get paid to do the work. From what I've read here, a good tech can do a lot of TSB's in less than the standard time, so the dealer makes extra on the warranty work.

stupid.

The powersteering whine when cold at start up is likely a bad or missing o-ring. Easily done in just a few minutes. I even helped a buddy of mine replace the o-ring in the parking lot at work at night. All I did was hold the flash light. The dealer probably couldnt duplicate because the car was already warm.
