3rd Gen 2008 TL-S Random Radio Reset

Hello everyone, I just got a 2008 TL-S yesterday and had a strange issue today.

I parked the car, got out, locked the door, you know... just a normal way of getting out of a car. Came back to the car in a normal way as well; unlocked with remote, opened door, put key in the ignition and started the car. Right away I noticed the climate fan was on (maybe it was the AC too) and the radio settings had reset. I know I didn't have the climate fan on, nor the AC... even though we could use the AC right now in here in So Cal.

Hopefully it was/is a one-time thing, but we'll see as I drive the car more often... unless this is a known issue???

1) Did you use the same remote/key, or a different one?
Owners can program the seat position, external mirrors, climate controls and audio settings for each remote.
If you used a different remote to unlock the car, the program settings for that remote will go into effect.

2) If you always use the same remote, then check the battery and battery cable connections at clamp and ground/starter ends. The TL starts to lose programmed settings when the battery is going bad or not tightly connected.

3) I've had the program settings change while using the same remote a couple of times in the 8 years I've had the car -- glitches then self-corrected on the next ignition cycle. It's too infrequent to be a known issue, AFAIK.

Welcome to AZ.

This has happened to me twice and each time, it came back with no issues.

I've learned to not worry about it.
