3k HID for fogs problem...& Dumb question

So I bought 3k hid for my fogs with a relay but after installing the fogs flicker. I read somewhere that DRL kits which i have may cause this problem. I turned my drls off seems to fix it but its not the look im going for. Im very picky on how my lighting should look.

Any ideas how to fix this problem? New hid kit?

Now for the dumb question.

3k D2S for main beam. I found some bulbs online but dont know how good they will actually be. I really dont care if they are legal or not. I ran 3k yellow on my 96 hatch for many years and never got pulled over. Any links to good manufacture to these bulbs would be appreciated.

I'm guessing you're talking about 3k hid for your upper fogs, but again, I'm guessing, in which case, you probably need a wiring harness for higher voltage, surprised they work at all if you're running 6 volts into a 12 volt ballast.

As for 3k main beam

A lot of people swear by these, I'll probably be getting some 5500k's soon.

You realize they have yellow headlights (yellow lenses usually, not 3K bulbs) because it's a regulation to avoid dazzling drivers during close (aka bumper to bumper) racing? Also yellow/amber goes through fog/snow/rain better, hence why many fogs are yellow.

Either way, what I think viet meant is that since you're not in LeMans, that's ricey.

That's exactly what I mean. Sure they may also have giant rear spoilers that provides hundreds of lbs of downforce at high speeds, but that doesn't mean putting it on a street car is a tasteful mod.

If you do go that route I still want to see the cut off line of 3k bulbs.

Do you have zkw-r lens swap?

Its not the bulbs ive been there with the more greenish look. Its usually cause a cheap hid kit "ballast" . lack of power would cause the greenish look.

If he wants 3k bulbs, then he can have 3k bulbs. I would much rather see a TL with yellow lights then one with blue/purple ones.

OP....I have nothing to contribute to this thread. However I would like to see pics as well once you get the bulbs you are after.

ZKWR lenses are meant for CBI's or 5000k Morimotos! This is where you get the best cutoff and best performance of your HID's!

Just the cut off lines with the ZKW-R and the 3000k D2S

I will try and get more pictures up soon of different angles and farther views.

NOTE: Yes i did lose alot of visibility obviously, but I still enjoy them. I still probably be switching back and forth if i get bored.
