30 MPH stutter/shaking?

My apologies if this has been covered. Couldn't find an exact match to my problem.

Had the O2 sensor replaced last week after the check engine light came on. Now my 2004 TL (Automatic Transmission, with Nav) seems to have a stutter/shaking as I accelerate to 25 to 35 MPH. It's an odd feeling, like it's going to stall. A bit more gas to get to 40 MPH and all seems fine. No lights, no warnings on dash.

My initial thought was it had something to do with the new O2 sensor or bad gas, but after some time and two three full tanks of different brands of gas, no difference.

Anyone have any thoughts or can point me in the right direction?

Thanks...LOVE this forum.

A bad O2 sensor could have let the engine run rich and loaded up the cylinders
Go to autozone or similar and buy Seafoam- read 2gen threa Seafoamed the Ol Tl and put whole can in intake vac line
Buy 2nd can and put into 1/4 tank of gas

With everything cleaned out- that will be a good strarting point

i think i have the same issue with my 04 TL 5AT. Does it happen offen? my TL shacks only on 3rd gear when the RMP reaches from 2000-2500, and speed of 30-40MPH. My car shacks prety bad. i took it to the dealer and test drove it, but nothing happen during the ride so they couldn't do anything. They ask me to leave the car with them so they can drive it. I decided not to because i don't want to be abuse the car.
i though it was my wheels because they are bent and can't be balanced.

How is leaving the car at the dealer so they can drive it several times until it acts up-
abuse of the car?
Driving it with a problem is abuse!!!
My car spent 3 days with them before the trans did its thing and I got my replacement.

My car does the EXACT same thing....late build '04 5at with 44k on it... at 30mph if i just feather the pettal i feel the shutter...its only when accelerating very slowly and almost not there at all when accelerating fast....i am taking mine in tomorrow but i KNOW they will say they can't duplicate the problem. I was thinking maybe have them change the tranny fluid see if that helps?

Ezland00 - So you had the same symptoms? what exactly did urs do? and did they change the fluid on their own or did u have to ask for it...of course my dealer didn't feel the shutter at all...i was thinking maybe the fluid change would help but i haven't had it done yet...they gave back my car saying they couldn't feel it at all....

First time I went in, I took one of the Tech for a test drive. We drove 1 mile or so, and couldn't find or feel any problem. I pay closer attention to where and when and how oven does it happen. 2 weeks of test, I realized that most of the time shutter happens when the car is cold, when I accurate the car slowly, and it happens only on 3rd gear RPM at 2500-3000. When I schedule for the service, I told them to pay closer attention to these notes. I drop the car by 10mins before they close so they can test my car early in the morning when it is cold. 9:45am next day they called me and told me that the tech duplicated the problem I was having. He said it’s transmission problem; the fluid might be contaminated with debris and clog up the valve. He said they are going to flush the fluid and re-test drive it. By 4:30Pm I got another called. Problem solved, no more shutter.

i got 07 TSX/navi for loaner and verything = $0

hope this will help.

If you read around this site. there are lots complains about bad services with acura dealers. There is a thread complains about dealer changed his leather seats with someone else. there are also many complains about scratches and high milages use. Also there is a thread that a guy's 05 TL got totaled by his dealer.

You just described my shudder to a T. I was able to duplicate mine the first trip to the dealer becuase i had learned its behavoir. Your post above was almost verbatum to the note I wrote for the dealer. They replaced my tranny at 56k with no questions asked because I had all my service records in the car for them. It is not a fluid problem. they told me its a bad bearing in the tranny. Thank god for the extended warranty.

This Wednesday I have the body shop repaint my bumper. The color did match up that well. i got rear ended last year and they repair the damage. they did a poor paint job on it. I picked the car today. i was so happy so see my car again. the color is still little off, but much better than. BAD news come on my way home. just when i pull out of the parking lot realized that the shutter issue is not solved. It shutters again, but this time it doesn’t happen as often and shutter is very light and short. I have to call in for the service again.
