2nd Throttle Body in 2 months!!

My car has been to the dealer 2 times in the past 2 months. The first time, the car shut the engine off and I lost power steering with the CEL- code: P2176. The second time it went into "limp" mode, not going over 2 RPM & 25 MPH, and CEL- Code:P2101. Both times the throttle body was replaced.


Just wondering if anybody else is having this issue with their TL.

MiaQbn23 - I had the exact same thing happen to me but in reverse order (got the same codes also. Where you able to resolve the problem? did you find out what was wrong?

Sorry i'm late to respond... The throttle body was replaced using my extended warranty. It worked untill last saturday... Again the throttle body is bad as well as an actuator and a relay... I'm not sure what the CEL code is this time. So this will be my 3rd Throttle body this year.

Does anybody think that a CAI is responsible for this?

So this will be another P2101 code I'm getting.

The car will loose power while in motion, but not accelerating, and drop the RPMs to 400 or 500 and give the CEL and go into "limp" mode. It happens every so often but not everyday. I can tell the way the car drives in the morning if it will stall during the day. Other days it drives normal.

On bad days, I feel like it has a lack of power when accelerating and the power steering gets hard when in parking lots or slow conditions.

I've been having this problem for over a year and no solutions...

Has this happen to anybody? What did you do to fix it?

OP have you tried taking it to another dealer? they might be able to diagnose it better.

So i've made an appointment at the dealer to see what can be done this time.

Even though the CEL light turned off, i've noticed that my cruise control does not work. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the check engine light.

Seems like the difficult steering is a result of too low engine RPM, not a problem within itself. Although I do not have a solution, it appears your car is not idling properly and too low RPM. It does not have a solid base idle.

I'm still learning this newer Honda OBDII technology, but there may be an "idle learn procedure"? Perhaps the dealer never performed this after TB replacement?

Something else is obviously the problem that remains consistent in your prior TB replacements. Either something pre-exists in your car setup that is the real problem or the dealer is consistently doing something wrong.

Just to update for those having the same problem as me... after 3 weeks at the dealer, they changed the engine control module(37820-RDA-A57). so far so good... no rough idle or stalling at red lights. fingers crossed...

Sorry to revive an old thread, I'm having problem with my tl going into limp mode as well. Code u0107 has popped up on a scan. I've replaced the app sensor and the battery, and I'm getting frustrated not being able to find the problem.

Is the ecm the same as ecu? The car's computer? I'm looking at having to change out the throttle body next, but I'm subscribing to your thread considering it was something different that resolved your problem.
