2nd Gear problem...

I drive an 08 TL type S, 6 Speed. Currently where i'm situated the climate is in the sub-zero temperatures and i notice if i DO NOT let the car run for about 5 min and let it slightly rise to normal operating temperatures, the car has a difficult time sliding into second gear. Its been happening since the car had 200 km on it and now its got about 4000km (about 2500 miles)

Again this is not a constant problem, only happens when the car and only shifting from first to second...Mind you the clutch is depressed ALL the way. Once the car is warmed up, it slides in just fine! Just wondering if this is normal.

there are several problems with the 6 speed trans showing up recently.
Take it to the dealer- its not normal- a trans should work as soon as you start the car.

It might not be normal, but it's normal for an Acura..
I'm on my second TL Type-S 6-speed, and they've both had that exact problem.
There's no fixing it, and the dealership will drive the car 1 mile and tell you they can't reproduce the issue..

Maybe you'll have a better experience that I have had..

i would say the oil inside the transfer case isnt hot enough....i mean it makes sense at temps below 0 a majority of the time it would create an issue. the people who design these cars dont take into consideration extreme temp drops at cold start.....OTHER THAN A BLOCK HEATER.....which in ottowa id recommend.
