I did the map update dvd in my 2008 tl, and every so often when im driving the navi with say error contact dealer. I know that the dvd drives are good for have issues but the dvd is not getting scratched, and works fine most of the time. I have opened up the drive and cleaned the lense, what else could it be?

 

The player mechanism itself is going south. You have to send it to Alpine for repair.

Dam! ok isn't it around 150 to get it fixed.

 

$358 sent to Alpine last I checked, but I have heard of other places being able to do it for less.

I had to do it last year.

He did not want to refund my money after i mailed the disk back to him. i had to file a complaint through PP to get a refund!!!

if he ever sells something, BUYER BEWARE!!
