2007 TL type S Trasnmission issue?

I have a 07 tl type s triptronic transmission:

I was stopped at a light the other day and went it turned green I got on the on ramp of the highway, as I was accelerating, the car got up to about 5,000 rpm's and did not shift gears. When I took my foot of the gas, the rpms went slightly down but the car was still making a loud reving noise. I hit the gas again and the car went up to about 5,000 rpm's and continued to to make a loud reving noise, it stayed like this for another few seconds and then is finally shifted up gears. Any one have the same issue, or know what might have caused this issue?

its a rare glitch in the VSA system. What happens is the VSA system detects slip at some time, and then doesn't allow the car to change gears so engine braking takes into affect and in certain situations (like snow) more power so you can get out of it. What happens next is the VSA system then takes some time to make sure the situation is done with and then will shift gears.

Thanks a lot. That sounds like the issue. I remember that it was triggered when I drove over a patch of ice and it the vsa light came on for a second.

I'm also having this issue, exactly as OP described. What is the best way to get the VSA system out of this loop/error?

Shift to neutral and back to drive. No idea if that's the best option, but seems better than being stuck in 2nd (or whatever you're in) gear for ~5 seconds.
Maybe try turning VSA off with the button?
