2005 TL stalls at 3k when cold

I’m new here so I don’t wxactly know how it works so I’m going to explain what is going on as best as I can. I bought a 2005 TL with 108k miles on it a few months ago. It now has 125k. Since it has gotten cold(mid teens at night) I have been experiencing stalling at 3k rpm in the morning. It starts normally and runs good. When I pull out of my drive way it gets to 3k rpm and hesitates and bucks and then the check engine light, traction control light, and vsa light come on. I’m a diesel mechanic and know nothing about these. When you turn the key off and start it up again the check engine light is the only light on. It will also stall if I rev it in park to 3k. Sounds like it hits rev limiter and cuts power and stumbles around 400 rpm and then dies. Looking through some other treads I’m leaning towards APPS but maybe crankshaft position sensor? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Just my 2 cents but can maybe it can be related to something with the trans?

other than that hope you figure it out and solve this.

Get your codes pulled first and then start making guesses. I wouldn't assume an APP sensor would cause it to stall...but crazier things have happened.

. I used the laptop at work and it said crankshaft position sensor b. It’s for heavy duty applications though and it’s kind of shitty. I don’t really want to trust it and pull the front cover off
