2005 Acura TL HID Problem

Hello, everyone. Just a quick question. My front passenger HID frontlight started to give up. It sometimes turns on but stays on until I turn it off. Its random on when it decides to turn on. Anyone know what to change to fix? Also any good sites or vendors to consider to repair.. If its not super technical I think i can do it myself.. thanks HAPPY EASTER!

Sounds like the bulb to me. Best way to test is to switch the bulbs to make sure.

It is definitely your bulb, mine did the same thing before it went out. Especially if you see it turning a pinkish color.

Do not waste your money buying a super nice bulb. I think acura wants close to 200 for new bulbs.

I bought these on Amazon in 2014 and cannot tell a difference (The difference is so small that unless you look at the light and get up close to it you literally cannot tell)

Amazon.com: MAXLUX HID Xenon Bulbs D2S 4300K E-MARK, DOT (1 Pair, OEM White): Automotive Amazon.com: MAXLUX HID Xenon Bulbs D2S 4300K E-MARK, DOT (1 Pair, OEM White): Automotive

Just my two cents. Also I had to take off my front bumper and take the entire headlight housing out to replace it. Sounds like a lot but considering I had to do it once in 110,000 miles its not that bad.

I would do Morimoto bulbs OVER those^ any day
you can find the morimotos at
D2S Morimoto XB XB35 XB55 OEM HID D2S Xenon headlight bulbs lamps headlamp replacement Philips Osram CBI 85122

the morimotos have a better track record than those cheap amazons linked above....
even in the comments section of the amazon link people are saying they suck

I never had a single problem with them, maybe I got lucky but I was only giving options and opinions

Delray Acura - Online Acura Parts Store stick with OEM because the 3g ballasts are actually pretty solid.

Before you order the ballast, you should see how much Gnargasim and truonghthe are going to chip in for making you buy bulbs.

The problem is more often the igniter rather than the ballast. Try ebaY for both the igniter and the bulbs.
