2004 TL acceleration squeal
2004 TL acceleration squeal
I have a 2004 TL that has a definite squeal when moderately accelerating through 1500-2500 RPM. This happens whether cold engine or hot, wet or dry.
Any ideas out there?

To Robbie the Cable Guy, I am not sure what you are asking in case you wish to elaborate.

I'm not sure if we have the same issue, but I recently took my car (2004 Auto-Transmission with 42,000 miles) in due to 2 noises:
1) chugging noise while car is idle
2) whining/squealing noise when accelerating
Just got my car back today from the dealer and both noises have been fixed.
* The chugging noise was fixed by replacing the Alternator Assembly and tensioner.
* The whining noise was fixed by replacing the Power Steering sub-pump, O-Ring, and Compressor Belt. Problem was identified by Power steering pump leaking a lot of fluid whereby beforementioned items were replaced.
There was another thread that discussed a whirring noise when accelerating and couple people noted that replacing the Heat Shield resolved the issue.

2004 TL squeal upon acceleration
Thanks to the responses from my original June request for help, the squeal upon acceleration problem is gone. It was the Heat Shield, which Acura found to be faulty and replaced. Acceleration is quiet and fun now.
Thanks to all.
Thanks to all.
