does the sub rattle, or does your rear deck rattle which is caused by the sub? this is a known issue and can easily be fixed with some felt. I think others have had their rear seat belts rattle too, but the majority suffer from the deck rattle including myself. just something to think about before you start tearing things apart.

yea i heard about that, but im pretty sure that its the sub, becuase i put my hand down near the deck to put presure to see if it was the deck but no the rattles goes alil bit away but it still is there... and when my radio is even at bout 4 or 5 % it still rattles so im pretty sure its the sub.

I just had mine replaced by a Honda dealer. You need to take out the back seat and take apart the rear deck to be able to removie the sub. The service guy told me it was a pain in the ass. The part number for the subwoofer is 39120-SEP-A22 (speaker assy. 20cm) acuraoemparts.com has it listed for $52.30. It also says it is for model years 2004-2006.

My sub was making a popping sound so I knew it was blown. I opted to just replace the stock sub instead of going aftermarket because I didn't want to lose any truck space and the stock sub is ok enough for me. I don't need a heavy hitting system.

I just bought an '04 A-spec about a month ago, and my stereo has been finagled with prior to my ownership... There's an 800 watt Sony amp in the trunk that's wired into the stereo, with a wire run out for a sub... But the previous owner apparently took his sub when he traded it in. And the factory sub is either not working or unhooked due to his previous sub. So I have no bottom end to the ELS stereo in my sweet ass A-spec... It's got navi in it so I'm kinda scared to fuk with the stereo and what not. Suppose I could just hook a sub up in the trunk near that big ass amp the dude left in the trunk. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

nice revive! well, at least you've searched
you have to figure out how the aftermarket amp is wired before deciding on the course of action

look behind the pass seat kick panel cover, that's where the stock amp is(was) located
it should give you some clues as to what channels where used

you'll have to reverse engineer the setup

The first thing I would check is the factory sub connector and the factor amp connectors. See what's going on over there and see where those wires are running to. That should give you a pretty good idea of what's going on so that you can get back to an OEM setup.

sorry to bump, but i'm experiencing a rattling too. the plastic child seat clip has felt, the passenger seatbelt was already replaced. my 06 TL is now out of warranty. what else can i check? it's only on certain songs (frequencies).

are you guys putting a 9v battery to the sub to test if it's blown?
