2004 Acura Tl Problem!!!!
2004 Acura Tl Problem!!!!
OK, I RECENTLY BOUGHT A 2004 ACURA TL WITH 65,000 MILES. SO, LIKE EVERY OTHER AVERAGE TEEN, I WANTED TO SEE WHAT MY NEW TOY COULD DO. I OPENED IT UP ALL THE WAY TILL REDLINE AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTED BLINKING.
MY QUESTION IS, IS IT SUPPOSED TO DO THAT AND IF NOT WHAT MAY BE THE PROBLEM.
THANKS FOR ANY ANSWERS

chances are you got the cat hot during all this play and caused a temporary overheat condition- hopefully its temp. Catalytic convertor damage is a real issue, and overrevving the engine- bending a valve when it contacts the piston and many other things await kids and adults who fail to understand the vehile they are operating
were you driving or sitting still? Go to some place that can read the codes for you, if you have a p0300, p0301,p0305(these are misfire codes) check out TSB 03-033. Read the TSB and see if the criteria matches. You can read the TSB on this site in the 3G garage.

Here is the TSB I was referring to. Get the codes read from Autozone and see if they Match the TSB. Just get the codes from Auto zone and don't listen to what they say you might need. They are NOT qualified to interpret the codes.
