15 LED super white corner lights 7443 and sidemarker flashes = no good
hey guys
got a problem in which i have cleared my headlights and i have done the sidemarker mod in which it flashes when i signal
and it worked perfectly with the regular stock 7443 yellow bulbs
i purchased some 15 LED super white bulbs off of ebay and put them in and now the sidemarkers lights do not flash when i signal and the corner lights flash rapidly now.
any idea guys?
i wanted to get the sylvania silverstar bulbs which has a "cool" look when not light and is amber when lit but they said they do not have it in the 7443 size.
what bulbs are you guys with cleared headlights and have done the sidemarker mod use??
thanks
wes

The LED's do not draw as much current as the 7443 incadesent bulb so the turn signal flasher does function. The flasher circuit uses the current top not only flash the lights but alert you when one of the bulbs is burned out by flashing more rapidly. Here's a good explanation and example.

In order to use LED's in place of the regular lamps you need to add a load resistor which gives a equivalent current draw. There are some threads already in Acurazine, do a search for more info.

umm...it says to just connect the black and then the other wire to the brake/turn wire...not sure what color ours are though...check this ebay site it shows a picture of the 7443 bulb wiring diagram...not sure if it is the same as ours...

hope that helps...

ok just installed the load resistors i got from
www.superbrightleds.com
really easy to install...probably took me 20 minutes for both sides and now everything works perfect and flashes slow!!!!
that link i gave above from ebay shows the exact location of which wire to install on the 7443 bulb type!
if you have done the sidemarker flash mod.......all you do is connect the same t-tab connector to one end of the resistor and the other end to ground! and drill the metal resistor part to that bracket
pretty easy
