105k Maintenence

Hey everyone, so my TL is at 104,000 miles and i need get the 105k service, from the Acura dealership they want 1950$ for parts and labor.

So instead im going to have a great friend of mines dad(who is a mechanic) do the service for me. He can get me aftermaket parts for 195$ and he is giving me a great deal on labor, but i do not want after market parts for anything in my engine (w/the exception of air filter or something minor) and i was wondering what a good price on all oem parts for this service would be.

Found these;

Genuine/OEM Honda/Acura Timing Belt Water Pump Kit Factory Service Parts #02 | eBay

NEW! Genuine/OEM Honda Acura Timing Belt & Water Pump Service Kit V6 2003-2014 | eBay

Honda/Acura V6 Premium Timing Belt & Water Pump Kit Genuine/OEM Factory Parts! | eBay

Can someone help me out with this?

Also just got an oil change and they said everything looks good but my transmission fluid was dirty and they recommended flushing it and replacing it and they were asking 169.99$

Really appreciate anyone who can help out, i just spent around 4k on some parts im waiting for in about 2 weeks for something else on my car, so not trying to cheap out on anything just want to find the best deal.

Thanks again guys!

If you can search eBay, you can search AZ.

Everything you are asking has been covered many times here.

Hey OP, so I had my 105k service done about 10,000km ago. I did it early for peace of mind. Before getting my parts, I too wanted to inquire about what kit to buy.
I ended up purchasing a full OEM kit - http://www.ebay.com/itm/161120327788. I believe you have posted a link to this already.

But before I had purchased that, I was contemplating buying a AISIN kit from rockauto, what persuaded me was the fact that I knew I was going to be keeping my car for years to come and wanted nothing but the best. The full OEM kit is well worth the money! It will give you peace of mind, and you cant put a price on that.

Also, since the kit doesn't have everything.....you can source some more common parts from rockauto. IIRC I bought my NGK spark plugs from rockauto.
The 105k thread is quite lengthy, have a read at the thread I made before I got mine done. https://acurazine.com/forums/third-g...stions-947788/

that might be enough info for you to make your decision. Just make sure your mechanic is knowledgeable about our cars before you take it to him. Last thing you want is to run into more problems after having the parts installed. Also, having a knowledgeable mechanic will also save you money in the long run, cuz he/she will be able to identify other parts that may need replacing as well. One of my motor mounts was torn, and during my 105k service I had it swapped out thanks to my mechanic.

goodluck!!

I do my own TB changes. I've used the Gates kit with water pump twice now. No issues whatsoever. Currently at 255K (~40K on the 2nd kit).

FIY the OEM water pump is Asin (spell check) you can get the asin kit at rock auto for around $200 ish. As far as spark plugs goes I paid $40 for 6 NGK laser Irridium. About the transmission fluid DO NOT let them flush, you can do drain and fill method for 3 times to get all of the old fluid out AZ terminology know as 3x3. This is a very simple DIY
