08 type s not getting to op temp?

Hey guys got another 3rd Gen, this one is a very clean 2008 type s with 169 original kms on it with no clutch fade or rust anywhere. Question is about coolant temp. It only gets up to 5 ticks off the cold line, halfway between cold and middle? Even after an hour cruise that's as high as the temp gauge got. My 07 tl s would get upto almost halfway. Parked it for 30 mins and checked under the hood, engine felt hot still thru the engine cover. Coolant topped up, overflow at full line, oil at full line no signs of issues that I can see.

is this a sign of a thermostat stuck open? Or do they make colder range thermostats? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Mine gets about 5 lines above cold as well. I think that's normal.

On board diagnostics show she's at 95 deg Celsius when fully warmed up, and that's at 5 ticks above the cold mark. Both rad fans are working as well.

just wanted confirm this is OK for it or should I put a new oem thermostat in it just to be sure. Thanks folks!

OEM thermostat should be fully open at ~90C. Temp in my TL stays around 1/3 of the range as well. I would say it's all right.

My 08 is the same as yours, but my ‘05 runs pretty much in the middle of the gauge.
I *think* it’s more a difference in the display range of the gauges than a difference in operating temps, but I’m not positive. Either way, both of my cars temps never budge once warmed up.
