going through what you have, I believe the pressure plate is worn.
After I changed out my clutch, the stiff pedal after a high rpm run was gone.

Change out the clutch.

if you're not going to mod it, stay OEM.
The OEM clutch set is made by LUK.

Member Hi Speed is turbocharged and he ran a stock clutch all the way up to 350whp.

Also, when your mechanic is changing out the clutch, inspect the flywheel.

Ok thanks I do my own work and always resurface the flywheel when installing a new clutch unless I'm missing something on this car and there's a reason you can't. I have a few cars but there Esther b series or k series so I'm new to the j series. I'd hate to sell this car already but I don't want a car I can't easily work on myself

Huh I wonder why not? cause once they get a little wear you think it would effect the new clutch kinda like brake pads you never just change the pads I always turn/cut the rotors or get new ones if I cut the once before. But I do all that stuff myself also so I don't know if a dealer does that they prob. Replace both so I'm sure they say replace flywheel clutch and plate all at once

We have a dual mass flywheel in our manual TL's which is most likely the reason why resurfacing is not recommended.
