'08 TL-S engine temperature

Can anyone tell me if this is normal or what may be a problem with my engine temperature?

The temperature is continuously at this level once car is warmed up and driven for at least ten minutes, revved it up a couple drives to see if any difference but same.

*side note, car runs well except for a small whining noise on a cold start for a minute or two, can only be heard if outside (anyone know which belt or what should be looked at for this?)

thanks!

It's normal. The gauge is buffered meaning it takes a large temperature swing in either direction to make it move from it's normal position. It stops people from needlessly taking it to the dealer because they don't realize that the engine will always vary +-10 degrees or more. Most manufacturers choose a spot slightly below halfway because it makes most people more comfortable being farther from the H.

The whine when cold is probably the power steering O-ring. Lots of threads on it. If it gets louder when you turn the steering wheel you have your problem. It's under a dollar at the dealer and under 5 minutes of your time to replace.
