'08 sunroof rattle - localized and possible fixes

So...been experiencing 2 types of sunroof rattles:

1. standard knocking rattle
2. buzz like rattle from under roof liner.

So I drove while the sunroof was in tilt position to isolate these 2 rattles.

First pic shows where the knocking rattle is coming from..the front of the sunroof. I jammed my finger on top of that hook like thing (circled) in between it and the tilted roof and the knocking rattle was gone.

2nd pic...I applied pressure with my hands on the area circled and the buzzing rattle was gone. This is at the rear of the sunroof area.

Soon...now I gotta figure out a fix.

Thinking felt tape/ Velcro for front knocking rattle but for 2nd rattle, looks like I gotta stuff something into that area from the small sunroof opening. Maybe a microfiber towel?

I had the same rattle. It only cropped up occasionally when the sunroof was in tilt position. I got in there and lubed up the joints with grease and a little WD40 on some of the contact points. That seemed to take care of it. Hasn't come back in about a year. I don't know if it was me goofing around or the actual lubrication.

If you come up with a definitive fix let us know.
