'08 with blown trans

a buddy of mine recently picked up an 08 non s with 43k on it he has had for about 2 months and drives like a grandma, he had civic before and gas is killing him

Well long story short he had taken to dealer for the Trans, it was slipping and shift hard between 1-2 & 2-3, and the Bluetooth stopped working, now i thought the transmission were pretty much fixed after 06 he is almost out of warranty, is it rare or common, i told him to get the extended warranty just in case

they "fixed" it and 2 days later he had to take it back because it was still slipping

The later 3G TLs haven't seen the same transmission carnage we have seen in the earlier models, but then again most don't have the same mileage, so time will tell. In terms of your buddy's car, it's used so it hard to say what the prior owner did or didn't do to it (maintenance / abuse). He is lucky he is still under warranty.

Let's hope not.

Honda / Acura builds solid reliable cars - with the exception of the trannys Don't know why they don't step it up.

I bought mine from the original owner with 68,000 miles and I found the car through a friends shop as he was rebuilding the transmission. $3000 rebuild!
