Hey guys, i have an auto, 08 Acura TL with 174k mls. Just purchased it today for 2500. It was a desperate buy do to my other car dying on me. I have an ill wife and child and need transportation for doctor visits. Anyway, i notice the car hesitates to get in 3rd or 4th gear and it down shifts kinda rough. Was hoping someone would have any insight on what the issue may be? First and second work just fine so far and fifth but as i said, when i slow down and it down shifts, its kinda rough like its stuck in the gear then goes.
The following is posted at the top of the New Member Introductions forum: Welcome! Please introduce yourselves here, BUT ASK FOR HELP IN THE TECHNICAL FORUMS
Since this is a topic/technical issue which will require replies and discussion, and not an introduction, this thread has been moved to the model specific forum.
I didnt know it could do that. I need to do my research. Ill keep an update.
Definitely would do the 3rd (two of them on the 07/08) and the fourth gear pressure switches for the transmission if it was mine, they seem more preventative but this sounds like textbook failure of them. They are a bit pricey but have the piece of mind of getting oem ones, if you replace them right after you add (or in the middle) of the atf change and reset the ecu (several videos online) it will probably help it significantly but definitely do it as soon as absolutely possible.
Transmission problems of slipping/hanging are a call for help from it and if ignored they die, just like people...
