'07 Type S won't move, reverse or drive

No warning or CELs. It ran fine until today. The car still runs but won't move. Had to shut it off to get it to go into park at first. Started to roll while in park. Applied parking brake. Started back up several hours later to check it out again and this time it started to make a clicking sound then grinding a bit. Went right back into park without shutting it off. I've had it for 3 years now and haven't replaced tranny fluid or any pressure switches. It has 151k miles on it. HELP PLEASE?! Most likely I'll be taking it to the stealership. I wanted to ask you gurus here what you think before I go get a** raped. Thanks!

Driver side axle...diagnostic = $56 + $338 parts and labor for a total of $435. I'm sure I could have found someplace cheaper or did it myself, but I didn't. Of course they informed me that the left control arm ($267) is bad and I need an alignment ($90) for another $377 + tax...***pass***. I just had an alignment 4 weeks ago. I had to take it back because it was still pulling to the left. They believed it was a tire so they switched the front tires and then it pulled to the right. The guy I take it to is very thorough. I'm confident he would have noticed the "bad" control arm. I should've just taken it to him for the axle but I wanted it done quickly, and he's usually a week out on his appointments. Oh well. They did clear out some old codes from the previous owner as well as wash the car and detail interior for "free".

Thanks for the quick responses everyone. I hope this post helps someone in the future.

typically if a transmission fails there will be some movement forward or backwards. if an axle snaps, car will not move at all
