I bought a new TL-S last November. So far I have had some problems - some minor, some major. I just wanted to know if any other new TL owners have had similar issues:

1) The engine would make a rattling noise during heavy acceleration out of low rpm. I took it to the dealer and they fixed something with the exhaust system. Now it seems to be gone.

2) The engine starter fails intermittently. I would need to get someone to push the car to force it to start in gear to get it going (I have 6MT). Right now the starter is being replaced at the dealer since it was determined to be defective.

3) Depending on temperature and humidity, I get creaking noises coming from the dashboard and rear panel. I suspect it is coming from the speakers but I am not certain. Can anything be done to silence this?

4) For my next set of tires, what would be best for traction? I notice it is very easy to make this car "squeal" with the stock tires and I wanted a stronger grip on the road.

 

I also had problems with the stock Michelins and 6MT... I have had good luck with the ES100's. Very good wet and dry traction.

They are NFG in snow, but in Venice I guess you wouldn't be worried about that
