I just bought an 07 TL 3.2L several day ago. I had a message come up for the gas cap. I read online that because it keeps popping up that it could be the Purge Valve. Yesterday I had the CEL come on. I had the codes pulled, they are p1717 and p0174. Could either of these code be linked to the purge valve? Any help would be great.

 

simply google the codes to find out what they mean..
p1717 is transmission range switch
p0174 is system too lean.

so no,the codes dont line up with the purge valve...
but either way; you'll have to fix all the codes including the purge valve.

 

I have googled them. I am getting mixed information. That’s why I am asking for help.
