'06 Transmission "whine" while accelerating

I have a 06 TL and have a weird transmission whine/hum. it only happens while you are pressing the gas peddle. when coasting/cruising it is not present.

I had a mechanic ride with me once and asked him what the noise was and he said it was part of transmission (cant remember if he said what part) and that it may never give me more problems than an annoying hum/whine or it may have more issues down the road.
This noise has been going on for a long time, but it really annoys me and thought I would try and find out more about it.

I have searched and have not found much about it.

any advice is greatly appreciated.

anyone else experience this?

I'm assuming you have an AT? There are actually a number of threads on auto trans wine, and its normal for the most part. Mine has always had a slight wine and iv never had an issue with the trans.

Video?

Mine does the same thing, but its a normal characteristic of the car.

My 91 Acura Integra had a similar low whine as it moved through gears moving forward. No biggy at all, I actually like that slight whine sound. My cousins 06 Accord does the same and Aunt's 03 Pilot does too.

^wait so the sound I've heard in all Hondas Ive driven and riden in is a torque converter going out.

Ugh oh. My integra and my car is not a very pronounce whine, very small faint sound when you accelerate but nothing during idle. Since I got both from the beginning made those sounds. My Aunt's 06 TL does the same, I seriously thought it was a normal characteristic.

OP sorry that I gave wrong info. pohljm's suggestion is one to consider.

Sometimes that whine is normal though.

The whine has been present for a long time. Its just annoying. I have done the 3x3 ATF flush, 3rd and 4th pressure switches and other maintenance to the car thanks to all the advice on here, and just thought I would check to see if this is something I can easily fix myself.

Like I said, my mechanic said that its something that is not worth tearing the tranny appart for now cause it may never develop into an actual problem.

What fluid did you use for the 3x3? The whine was one of the first things I noticed when I drove the car, my mechanic buddy told me almost every Honda does that. I switched to a blend of Redline Type F/D4 and it's much less noticeable.
