'06 TL wont start
battery less than a year old no dimming all lights come on stick the key in turn it an nothing. no crank
after beating on the starter than crank I will get 1 click first crank but than back to nothing.
had a friend hold the key on while I hit the starter and it lit up arched a little and than the car turned on? before I go spending money does this sound like a starter replacement time? never had a previous problem starting this car 06 88 thousand on it.
want to ask now because if so im gonna start taking it apart tonight. if that's the case any tips on someone who done this replacement before

Almost certain it's your starter.
I had to replace it back in 2010, a month after purchase of the car.
Pretty straight forward.
Remove the battery terminals, then remove the battery.
Then remove the battery tray.
This took the most time since you can't see under the tray.
Just a few bolts for the battery tray.
Then you can remove the starter, which you unhook the connector first then unbolt it.
