I'm really curious is their anything really unique about the cruise control feature to help save gas or it just helps pace your speed?

 

cruise control can set a constant speed.
SOMETHING your foot cant do.
your foot will always be inconsistent, while the cruise control is consistent, thus increasing MPG.

so, not a feature per se...rather, a side effect of cruise control is better fuel mileage

Also helps maintain comfort while driving long distances, being able to rest your foot a little bit more.
