'06 TL (Auto): Replaced starter, now D flashing
My 06 TL (5-speed auto) refused to start yesterday. Battery is good (jump-start did nothing, and the dash lights up), so I took it to Pep Boys and had the starter motor replaced. Picked up the car this afternoon, and everything looked (and drove) fine.
A few minutes into the drive back home, my D indicator on the dash started flashing. I have noticed it does not flash when I start my drive, but only after I drive it a bit (presumably at a speed > 45-50 mph).
Will it help to take it back to the Pep Boys? When I called, they weren't sure they had the resources to do the diagnostics.
Thanks in advance.

could be a disconnected sensor at top of trans. Typically a trans failure will have the VSA & ABS light on and D flashing. but pull codes to be sure.

^Agreed^
Take a look at your trans and see if a sensor is not hooked up. Otherwise take it back and have them take a look. But it could also have just started after you got it back and could be completelt unrelated.

You were right. Took it back to Pep Boys and the tech "admitted" he may have broken some plastic clip in there, and that this was causing the transmission sensor to go off. All is well -- for now.
Thanks for all the help.

Yeah... They would be buying the new "plasic clip" they broke for sure! I hate hack shops that dont fix their screw ups until you come back and complain.
