Dude..This is a HUGE piece of information that you just so happened to let slide?? Thst plus the green key blinking sounds like your immobilizer (potentially paired with your ECU) is on the fritz... Me thinks you'll need an ECU after all

yeah i did put the video up at first on my newer post, idk if it was still loading on YT or not but that immobilizer situation was hard to call also with no code! so i kept putting both keys in and just watched to see if it would ever cut out, or even blink a few times! not trying to kill the battery or hurt the car anymore.. should I buy a used ECU if that's the problem? or just go ahead and spend the arm and leg with the dealer to have them fix it? i know they have to program it if I did buy the ECU off of eBay or amazon which would be ALOT cheaper. Thanks man you guys have been a lot of help! i was losing my mind throwing these parts into it

If you have the dealer work on the immobilizer, they will likely want to see the title or registration and your Identification. haha

i have all of that in hand, well in the glove box lol so that wouldn't be a problem! what will save my pockets haha because, I know for a fact when i had my 95 LS400 I spent too much money at that damn Lexus dealer! a dust ring cover cost me almost 400+ including labor fees. I ended up cutting that damn thing out a yr later what a waste of cash. would you recommend DIY?

My 05 does not have an immobilizer that I am aware of. And I know nothing about those at this time. I would either read up on it, or take it to the dealer before I would replace anything else.

Yes I know what a immobilzer is. I have the Helm book and I read it for things that need to be fixed. But I would be more concerned with yourself wasting money on things that is not fixing your car.. And you're prepared to "dump your next paycheck" when that green key light is flashing in your face..

I just don't want to mess it up to the point of no return.. I appreciate your help! much love brotha

OP, have you checked the condition of the + battery cable? At this age it might be corroded to the point where it's conductivity could easily be compromised. Mine had to be replaced last year.

Just a thought.............

I finally found out what was wrong, it took a min.. since i was going threw a move out of town! The timing belt snapped, which caused it to die out the way it did. I didn't have them check for bent valves just yet.. the mechanic said more then likely i will have to buy a brand new/used head. which is pricey at this moment for me, I'm wondering any suggestions should i just go ahead and scrap the car? I'm looking at my insurance to see if it will cover it if possible. Or would you go ahead with a new head job? I really like this car but things have to happen thanks for all the support and help i can't stress how much, i really appreciate it!

Very curious if the TB was ever replaced or is this the original TB?

As for scrapping the car? Only you can make that decision. Determine what the car is worth as-is, what it is worth repaired, and compare the difference with the cost to repair.

It was never replaced! it's the original TB. from the looks of the shreds of the belt, it looked very aged and worn.

My $0.02...

The cost of replacing the head or heads which were damaged will most likely be a fraction of what you would need to spend to buy another car anywhere near as nice. Scrapping an otherwise good condition car because of engine issues will only present an opportunity for the entity which buys the car.

While driving, the ABS *!!* light, comes on but everything else is great any feedback on what this could be? Im getting no codes at all. It drives very well other then this problem!
