yo wassup everyone i have an 05 tl with 31k miles i had just put gas in the car drove it on for awhile then left it on cuz waitng for someone then the malfunction indicator light came on on the dash i checked the gas cap it was good. havent droved it for 3 days then warmed it up after driving it for half an hour it turned off is their anything to look out for or has anyone had the same problem? also im not throwing any codes in the message box of my dash

 

was the gas cap on with 3 clicks or more? Did you remove it and start from zero?
Tightening it may help if it was not tight-but how would you know if you dont remove it first
the TL is hyper sensitive to having a sealed pressure fuel system.

go to a parts store and ask them to plug into the code reader port and check with a real scanner tool for codes- its free
report back with those~

 

I Just had the same thing happen to mine the other day, friend told me that those fuel caps go bad, and qouting 01tk4tl "hyper sensitive to sealed pressure fuel system" this could be our problem? I have a 05 aswell but with nearly 80k
