05 TL M/T From Auction Electrical issues after Mods

Hey All,
I purchased this TL from Auction and discovered it has been tinkered with quite a lot. I am getting the following trouble codes and there is a lot of electrical wire splicing that has been done. If I reset the codes the car will operate OK and rev over 3500 RPM but after a couple higher RPM gear changes the car will no longer rev over 3500 RPM.

P0135 and P0155 for o2 sensors - These codes show up immediately after clearing codes.
P0498 - Evap Emissions System Vent Valve control circuit low
P2648 - A Rocker Arm Actuator Control Circuit Low Bank 1
P2552 - Throttle/Fuel Inhibit Circuit

I replaced the VVT solenoid and oil pressure switch and the Intake Manifold Runner control actuator to clear some of the other codes I was getting.
I took it to my local trusted shop for a deeper diagnostic and they suggested that due to the amount of tinkering with the fuse box and wire splicing that I should start by replacing the ECM/PCM, Fuse Box under the hood, and the Engine wiring harness. I was thinking of starting with the ECM but am worried that the existing electrical state may fry any replacement ECM.

I am in the Dallas area and looking for an 05 TL M/T that I can get these parts as a set.

Any other guidance would be greatly appreciated as well.

BK

The only car-part.com 2005 six speed I could find near you is in New Mexico. They have the ECM, engine fuse box and engine wiring harness listed.

Foreign and Domestic Parts - Albuquerque, NM - Five J's Auto Parts (fivejsauto.com)

If possible, you best 'jump' on it before the frankenstein peeps snatch up these parts.

Good Luck!

there's a few grounds that could be loose, there is one by the throttle body that causes rocker arm A error if I remember correctly.
