i have an 05 tl and the fog lights dont come on....i checked the bulbs and they are good...i also checked the fuses and they are good..anything else i should check?

 

Check these:
• Open in the wiring, or wiring problem.
• Fog relay.
• Combination switch, fog on/off switch.

 

thanks for the fast reply....where would the relay be located.....i cant seem to find it on the fuse box in the front.

 

It's under the hood, in it's own little housing next to the under hood fuse box / intake area. It's got a square black cap about 1.5" x 1.5".

There is a 2004 factory manual floating around the web. Download it, it has the step by step diagnostic routine.

 

What fuses did you check? It's #10 (20A) in the underhood fuse box.

Have you modded your fog lights in any way?

You don't have your brights on, do you?

 

my fog lights won't come on either on my 2006.Fuses and bulbs looks good.All my other lights work fine. I'm unsure on how to test the relays. This happened after trying to independent fog lights mod. So I'm thinking either I shorted a relay or broke the combination switch because there was some sparks when I was spicing the wires on the steering wheel. I have a separate wire and switch with a relay to the factory fogs right now until I can figure out what I broke.

 

When I turn on the factory fog light switch I still get an indicator light on the dash.Is there a way I can tap into that either from the switch since the relay no longer gets power to it?

 

A bit premature, but hope you guys are aware that the fogs come on only on with the low beam

 

Just had this problem. In mine there was a short in the switch. I wiggled it back and forth and they turned on. They will not stay on though
