'05 TL Braking Problem......????
I just installed some new 88 rotors and new front brake pads. It was all smooth til a couple of weeks back when I started to feel and hear this grinding noise from the front right passenger side as I start to slow down to exit on the freeway. It seems like it only happens when I'm about to come to a full stop. Some times it happens and some times it don't. Can anyone tell me what this could be? Thanks.
try posting in gen3 where you belong,, and always suspect any last work!!
things were cleaned and relubed with caliper grease?
rotors cleaned before install with brake cleaner?
bolts all at spec torque,,not blasted on or hand tight?

Did you follow the rotor embed procedure ? if not try asking the manufacturur for the process. Every brand should come with one unless OEM, I bought my rotors from R1 concepts and they are really good. Combo'd with the Hawk HPS pads and woot woot is all i got to say. If you dont follow the embed procedure it could also lead to squeals and unwanted grinding. Try 0-60 mph and then brake hard to come to a complete stop but not hard enought to engage the ABS system (repeat at least 5 times). This is just my two cents of knowledge here. If this doesnt work then try the above two methods.
Thanks for all your help....I'm gonna do all those to make sure nothing else is wrong since I got the car from my unc who really didnt take good care of it in the first place. If life gives you a lemon, you gotta make lemonade.
