Unhappy '05 Acura TL FOG LIGHTS!!!! NEED HELP!!!!

So I just bought an American 2005 Pearl White Acura TL. Great Car with only 39000 km on it. So after a few days of driving the car during the night I would get high beamed ALOT!, this was really odd because I thought the lights on my car were just fine, and the high beam function was turned off so I just thought the people beaming me never saw HID's in there life . So one day I decided to take a look and find out the big fuss. So I turned my car on and put turned the Headlights on. I get out of the car and to my suprise I see my HID's on, Parking lights on.....but my DRL's were also ON? Is that normal, to my suprise its not. I checked out my buddies TL which also is american, but he gets to control the Fog light option when ever he wants!... So im wondering what went wrong? Is this just miss wiring and something that can be fixed easily... or is this gonna cost me alot to fix? Any suggestions would be great..Im from toronto if theres any of you guys out there!

why would people be highbeaming you because you have your fogs on?

you know the the thing you use to push up n down to use your signals? <- and -> well theres a knob on there you can turn that will turn your fogs on or off

do you have "fog lights" also? Or is the American TL "fog lights" your "daytime running lights"? What happens when you turn your high beams on? Do your foglights come off, cause they should.... You may just need to have your headlights re-adjusted/aimed.....I may be that people think you have your high beams on cause I get highbeamed when I have my foglights on sometimes too, I just show them what my high beams really look like and that teaches them a lesson...haha jk.

lol ok let me clarify.....
ALL the lights are aimed perfectly... I know this because I always install aftermarket hid's myself and make sure they are aimed properly... secondly yes the 05 American cars do come with fog lights as mine as well as my buddy has the same... Third of all the Fog lights are always on no matter what... and I know this is not normal... is there anyone I can take them to besides acura.... The Acura Brampton are asking $118 plus tax an hour to check out any electrical... Just wanted to know if theres something I can do on my own to check this problem out? Thanks for your replies guys!

Listen to ecliptics or READ YOUR MANUAL.

Just twist the little ring on the signal/headlights lever (left of the steering wheel). Turn it towards you... done.

before you bought the car from the US, they must've installed a DRL module on the fog lights location after entering canada.

if i was in your shoes, i'd remove that DRL module they've installed.

they did that to my accord before, which I brought it back to TO from Dallas before.

hey captain,
are your fog lights on even when your headlights are turned off? i have got an american tl but would actually like to have some form of drls if possible. if you end up removing the module without any damage, please let me know, as i would be interested in purchasing it for installation in my car. thanks!
