'04 TL, VSA light and yellow warning light on
my car has 121k miles auto,
this happened 3 times VSA light and yellow warning light on, check engine light on it seems to be intermittent , once it came on 2 days straight , then 4 days no light then on again
car goes into limp mode, i pull over turn car off then back on
check engine light stays on but i can drive it, seems to have come on when its cold in the morning, or night
after I drive it about 10-15 miles the check engine light goes off,
I ran the obd2 tester it said p2101, i cant find anything on this code
any one got any ideas? i wish the dam thing would not go into limpmode

I've got the same problem. Tripped codes P2101 (Throttle Actuator Control) & 2176 (Throttle Actuator Control System - Idle Position Not Learned) when I started my car after a business trip. Went into Limp mode w/ CEL light on.
I ordered an APP Sensor cause I thought that might've been the problem before reading the codes. We'll see if that fixes the problem.
Recently took my car in to the dealership with a rough idle. They said the throttle body was dirty and charged me $300 to clean it. Looks like they didn't do a very good job with it, huh?

I'm 90% certain it's the APP SENSOR. Just replace it and you'll be good to go. and this is for your own good; take it or leave it.
Do not use hondasomething.com to get that part cheaper pay the 20-30$ extra and buy it from acura oem or have your mechanic/dealer order it for you.

The very same thing happened to me with the same code while cruising down the street, limp mode came on and no matter how far I pushed the throttle the car just crawled as it accelerated. A day later no light and no issues, ive also notice a rough idle as well recently.
Please let me know what your fix is so I can do the same.

any updates on the fix to this problem?? I'm experiencing the same symptoms. I've had the APP sensor changed last year and the code associated with that was P2176 so I highly doubt its that again because I'm only getting the DTC P2101

My mechanic tried 3 different throttle bodies because that's the code he was given. I snooped around on here a bit and found that the APP sensor could be a problem - he tested it, and it was bad.
I can't believe the dealership charged you $300 to clean the throttle body. My new one cost that much!
