'04 TL mysteriously died twice today

04 TL Automatic
114K Miles

My wife was driving to work this morning and after 7 miles from the house, she heard a click and the engine and everything turn off. She coasted to the curb, turned the ignition off then re-started the engine. It started and drove fine. 5 mile again just before the freeway, same thing happened. I picked her up and drove home the Acura and did no experience nor notice any issue. There was no check engine light. Battery condition is good and the terminals are clean and clamped well. I plugged in my OBDC reader and it shows NO codes. It has been starting fine. I will drive to autozone later today to have the battery checked even though it looks fine. I can turn on the fan, head lights while the engine if off then crank/start the car and it starts fine. Any suggestions?

I had that same clicking and when I got it checked, my guy told me the computer board started shorting because there was water on from running the heat and the a/c alot. Did you check the alternator?

Just came back from Autozone to have the battery and charging checked. No surprise that everything checked out fine.

I need to find that wire/connection that might be intermittently getting loose and can cause the engine to shutdown The fuse compartment in the engine bay looks fine. I pushed down the fuses and relays and did not see anything obviously loose.

Check your grounds + cables. Make sure nothing is corroded. Also, will it die while idling? Or maybe when going over a bump (loose connection somewhere)..?

On both occations, the car was in motion (drive) and the road is smooth. I have not replicated the issue unfortunately.

That would be my first instinct. Start the car, jiggle the battery cables (careful not to hurt yourself obviously), let it run to see if it dies for a little while, and have any DTC's read. Sometimes the computer won't set a light but save a code in memory.

I did some shaking earlier this morning. I will expand my shaking and rattling later today. The OBDC code reader still shows no codes.

One of the wires could be exposed and getting shorted from condensation build up. If that's the case take it to Acura because its considered a manufacturer defect.
