I have an 04 TL that has headlight problem. Sometimes the passenger side will work sometimes not. Also it isn't as bright as the drivers side. I am thinking it is in the ballast in that light.

Any ideas?

 

swap the bulbs around and see what happens, if the problem follows the bulb, replace both of them. If the problem stays in the same spot check wiring and ballast

 

Already put in new bulb on that side. Didn't change anything.

 

I'm not an expert, but I'm told it's more a question of the ballast failing more so than the lamps. When the lamp fails, there's no illumination, period.

 

swap the head lights and check to see if works or not. sometimes itll work for a little while then quit.

then it could be your ballast or ignitor.

this happened to me. i replaced the bulb and it wasnt the bulb.
then i bought a ballast and its not the ballast - its the ignitor which im replacing now.

the bulb color differnce is probably because someone tried to fix your light before with a bulb replacement and put in whatever lumens bulbs they wanted (the cheapest)

buy a new set of bulbs if the colors are off
