'04 Acura TL engine noise

Hi Guys, new to the forum. Bought a used acura tl 04 with 64k miles which had 80% oil life left at the time. However i changed all fluids with original ones.

The problem now is: since i bought the car and start it in the mornings you will hear a clack clack sound from the engine. This only happens in the mornings and if the weather is colder it the sound it louder. 5-10 mins after the engine is warmed up there is absolutely no noise from the engine. this only occurs in the morning..if i drive during the day,,park for a couple hrs and start again you will get no noise..

I have read many posts, some say its valves need adjusting, some say the timing belt hydraulic tensioner needs replacing. so its mixed answers and i was wondering if anyone has a definite answer or having the same problem.

thanks for your time
sam

this is true. I dont drive my car a lot anymore now that i bike but when i start it up for the first time it runs a little louder and a bit rougher. My guess is the oil just needs to be recirculated through the engine on warm up.

i hear what ur saying but oil pressure builds up in like 1-2 seconds..once the oil light goes off the pressure is there so its hard to say why this noise on start up and remember its louder when the temp is colder so it seems like something is expanding with heat and then stopping the noise...

anyone else with this issue.
