I recently purchased an acura 2005 tl. I'am having a problem with the navigation unit in the trunk of the car. My radio is working, the backlight and light on the navigation is working but there are no displays only black screen. The dvd is not spinning and the fan is not working. I read and tried all the other options that was posted in the forum but it didnt work for me. Can someone hep me?

 

Bite the bullet and send the unit to Alpine, and yes, they did raise their cost of repair/replacement. May seem high, but $358 is quite reasonable considering the new unit is $3000. Money well spent.

As '05-'06 the same, many used units available, but with the price range $250/$1000, better off with the repaired unit.

 

There is a toggle switch in the console under the slide cover. That turns the screen on and off. I just got an 05 tl and ran into the same problem until I discovered the function of the toggle.
