I have a 04 TL with about 100k have owned it for about 3 yrs and for the last 2 months it’s been all but trouble.

1st: I’m driving down the HWY and a piece of tire came out no where BAM I run over it and some STUPID sensor gets activated and my check engine light comes on the ABS light does too then car wont go more them 50mph. Stopped the car turned it off and the car does fine. But 10 minutes down the HWY does it again. Bring it to the shop and the mechanic said it was sensor that had been activated when I ran over the piece of tire. So he said he reset it and did transmission oil change. Seem like that did the trick!

2nd: The 3rd brake light was acting up and Acura wanted $200 to fix it I Google it and found this site and fixed it for GUESS how much $7.96 and 3min of my day AWESOME... THANKS GUYS

Okay NOW I’m LOST and probably need to bring the car to the shop again (grrrrr) The car drives and starts fine BUT the engine feels like it REVS UP every so often but nothing on the dash board changes, just that REVS feeling and then its normal.. So I wonder if it can be an electrical issue praying is not the TRAMSMISSION ... ANY ONE HAVE ANY IDEAS????

Last but not LEAST HOLLY TIRES I have to buy new one seems like every year...

Just VENTING Thanks ACURAZINE ...

Welcome

It sounds like a wheel speed sensor was knocked out of commission by that piece of tire you hit. Would have happened to any car.

The Acura dealership doesn't sound terribly reputable for doing that. A simple goodwill fix builds up a long term relationship of trust (and income for them). I'd try a different place in the future.

And yes these cars eat up tires. Have you gotten an alignment recently? That will help.

Nothing but trouble huh?? Easy on the exaggerations there chief...seriously, any car could've hit that tire and the fix was easy and painless, so there goes that.

Second, the third brake light...cheap and easy...quit you're complaining...

Third, engine revving...it has 100k miles, get it checked out and be done with it. It's probably another one of your life-altering easy fixes...

Lastly, tires...get better ones and an alignment...done
