For your BLUE-ing pleasure......Co-starring Optima Red

This thread is for those of us who have yet to reach baller status with the puchase of the supercharger LOL.

Well my battery has been leaking lately and although I could have easily gotten a replacement under warranty (at least I think and may still do so), I decided to make the jump and get a better performing battery anyway. I bought the Optima RED 34/78 and now my headlights have never shined brighter and the car actually feels a little faster when I'm on it!?!? Actually got blinked twice tonight from opposing traffic at a stoplight....little did they know. Anyway, here's some pics. Also purchased some new grounding wire (got the hook-up...I avoid paying retail at ALL COSTS!) with a much more nicer and flexible terminal block since I'm doing some interior upgrades where I've decided to tap into the battery directly but haven't installed them yet. So much to do, but not sure what I want long term from this car........

Also took some random pics since you never can get enough of ABP and to make our new RBP brothers/sisters more confident in their color choice. Enjoy!

And here's what I'm putting a deposit on....

I wish, haha!

That's my vote for the best looking blue.

The wheels and drop look perfect.

What rims are those, brand, size ?? Are those coils or did you go aspec for the drop??

Tint that bad boy.

Thanks! Yeah, I'm waiting for some paintwork to be done next month before I get the tints put on since they'll be pulling some body panels for the repairs on the rear passenger side. Rims are zenetti Deuces in polished/black-powdercoat combo. 19's x 8.5's sitting on 245/35's Nittos. Not the best choice of rim performance wise (there are others that are lighter) but I think it complements the ABP color as well for a good price that doesn't dent the wallet. Drop is aftermarket Neuspeed Koni's with Tein springs.

04TeinTL:
Thanks man!

Nandito:
Thanks and I really really like the black-on-black you've got going. Hope you figure out your brake situation and get those SS's slapped on. Skyline is apparently going to be released by fall of this year as a 2008 model....that is the rumor at least but nothing solid yet. Overseas it will be released as the GT-R, then here in the states some other name RB-something I think. They'll be dropping the "skyline" name apparently. Price wise, people are talking around high $50's maybe even $60k but a 4WD coupe is something I've been looking for awhile and I think this model GT-R will have some good staying power similar to the GT-R's of old. You can't help but drool at looking at some of the older tricked out GT-R's.

Da_Illez:
Thanks bro. Zenetti Deuces and the battery I got for $134.95. Not too bad of a deal and you get the 2 top terminal posts as well as the 2 side GM style terminal posts. Can come in handy if you've got a lot of amps, etc, to drive but if you're powering alot of electronics with the car off, the Optima yellow I hear is a better choice. Plus our stock battery has only like 550 cold cranking amps and the optima red that I have has 1000 CCA at 32F and 800 CCA at 0F. Are stock batteries are crap compared to the Optimas. Plus the red top looks trick.

Ctlgo:
Thanks. Auto unfortunately which is why I've been debating on either trading this car in for a manual in the same color and slapping the SC in it, or just keep this automatic with no SC (will be the daily beater hopefully for a long, long time) and put some money aside for the nissan GT-R. Any recent pics of your souped up TL?

Phesto:
Yeah you shouldn't have any problem. I think someone has actually already installed the optima yellow in their 2nd gen with no problems. The optima red's come in the same exact sizes as the yellows and both are smaller than the stock battery for the 3gens. It will really complement your pulley colors well. Good luck!
BTW, the 34/78 will run you right around $135. The 34/78 is actually the biggest size-wise and falls in the top range as far as performance goes for the Red tops. BTW, There was a new seller on ebay selling them for about 10 bucks cheaper though....

Damn, that color is gorgeous especially fixed up! BEAUTIFUL!

I never knew a battery will make your headlights brighter and increase performance for the engine. I know those batteries are top of the line. It sounds like a cheap replacement compared to other mods. I would be scared to do this mod as I feel my lights are already bright as heck. I feel bad sometimes for the opposite traffic coming towards me on a no litted area. Anyhow, your car is nice!! Keep up the good work!

you'll need a spacer with these rims! Unless you have auto and go aftermarket bbk, alot of the bbk mfg's are starting to make different caliper brackets to satisfy smaller offset rims.

Hey PP, thanks man. I'll be doing some interior mods later this afternoon (after my colts try to whip some steeler azz I hope!) so I'll try and get some daytime pics. It's been raining out here, so car is looking kind of crappy right now...hence the night time pics!

That might be my favorite ABP.

It's hard to go wrong with an Optima battery.

Optima battery will really increase performance? Or is it all psychological? I didn't know that.

Anyone know if they make the same type of wheel, without the black spokes........I think it would look nice with just the polished spokes.

The car looks super nice though, good work.

Don't mean to reserect an old thread, but like the above post stated...anyone ever see anything similar without the black? Or special-ed if you are still around, do you happen to have any daytime pics of the rims.

Very interested in buying these soon, however I don't like a "full" look to rims, I like the 5 spoke pattern, like in your nightpics, you can't see the black and those rims look so good on the TL. I wonder what it looks like in day.

hey pete, yeah i've got some daytime pics up. probably the easiest thread / most recent thread is acurasghost's poll thread where he's thinking about purchasing the same rims and has some daytime pics of my car in his thread.

If the black spokes don't do it for you, probably the closest rims I can think of that just have that 5 star pattern but with 10 spokes would be either the set that ron jon has or SSR makes something that's pretty close. I'm sure there's others but these 2 manufacturers/designs come to mind first. Good luck man!

thanks for the comps guys. drop can't remember off the top of my head but it's about a 1 finger gap up front and 2 fingers for the rears.

price for 4 19" rims and 4 nitto 555's ran me $1600 but my friend owns a rim and stereo shop.

You might want to get your black terminal off the metal frame holder. Looks like its touching it.

I just installed a 34R Optima battery.

I just had to move the battery a tad more toward the ground to make it reach.
