Quick color change as requested to as close to Ferrari Red (aka Rosso Corsa) as I could get in a few minutes.

Flanagan, thanks for the photoshop. However, I still like the Racing yellow, in the near future. I am going to hit the speed/race shop near me and paint my car with S2000 yellow and add massive pearl on the paint.

I have to say, the more I see it, the blue isn't half bad...however, every time I see the red one, I want to paint mine. Out of curiosity, how much does a custom paint job cost (a good one, where they get all of the door jambs, inside the sunroof, remove the body kit, etc.)? I know the type of paint affects it, but ball park...

as in terms of how much a custom paint job will cost. I believe a racing yellow with massive pearl in it would cost me about $5000 (all the door jambs, moonroof, removing body kit, etc). Now I'm not talking about shitty paint job, i'm talking about true professionally done. $5000 is alot of cash, that is why I haven't done it yet.
I would say 99% of the people on this forum does NOT like yellow. But I love it and I almost bought a 350z because it had yellow exterior, even though my first choice was Honda S2000 (needless to say YELLOW exterior) but I'm too tall for that car. Yellow is my thing, if I had the money, I would have seriously gotten the Z06 Corvette in yellow.

I'll update you guys if I decide to have it painted yellow. Agreeing with chill_dog, the BLUE is a hot color, remind me of that New Mazda 3 exterior or the STi exterior.

Well, you mentioned S2000 yellow, so I based it off that. Here's the pic I used as a basis:

As far as pearl coat goes, there are different colors of pearl coat. It alters the highlight color on the paint as the angle changes. So you can have your yellow base coat with orange pearl (paint looks deeper yellow), red pearl (highlights look orange to red from certain angles), blue pearl (highlights looks greenish to blue from certain angles), white pearl (highlights are brighter from certain angles), etc. I think Honda uses a yellow pearl on top of a yellow base coat to make it "more yellow". TVR uses some really wicked pearl coats on some of their colors. But since the effect is dependent upon angle, Photoshop doesn't do a very good job of recreating the effect.

Essentially, I'm copping out of doing more color changes in Photoshop

Man, that's what I was trying to cop out of! I know you're not criticising at all, you just want what you're looking for. Unfortunately, I'm going to be away for the weekend and won't have time to do so until Monday. When I'm able, though, I'll post up all flavors of yellow ripe for the picking.

I still have no clue why Acura decided to get rid of ABP for the 3rd gen. No disrespect to the Abyss Blue Pearl owners but that color has almost become a staple of Acura exteriors with the Type-S. If they had made it for the new one it probably would've sold very well.

 

New ABP > Old ABP.

If you say so. No offense Mike, but I doubt you get as many looks with that navy-based blue than with Aegean Blue Pearl. People come up to my car every single day at gas stations and other places asking me if it's custom paint on my car. You wouldn't get that kind of reaction with the new blue.

 

I surely don't get this reaction with my 05 ABP/Camel.. This happens to you everyday?

 

I sense some heavy sarcasm here, but honestly, if my car is waxed people always ask me that. The last three times I've filled up my car at the gas station people have approached me and asked me what color it is and whether it's custom candy paint. When it's detailed the right way it really doesn't look like something a car company would release. That's all... I just wish Acura had released it for the 3rd gen as an option.

 

Not being sarcastic at all, actually. Just quite impressed. It is definitely a sweet color. I like my 05 ABP, but I'm not sure if I would've picked the brighter blue, only cause it's a little more bold and less classy I think. Definitely worth a ton of looks though. Wish I'd get that reaction with mine, haha.

 

It's not flashy enough to get people walking up and asking if it's custom, that's true. But everyone who really looks at it (especially clean) remarks on what an incredibly cool shade of blue it is. And I stand by my comment that the 3GTL shape looks better in a dark color than a light color. There's a reason Acura went to a darker palette with the new car.

And just for shit and giggles, I put the TL in MY personal favorite color on a car. I call it "Ice White", it's white metal flake with a blue pearl coat:

 

Still not digging the yellow, but if I had to pick one, I'd have to go with the 2nd one. I still like the red , but the "Ice White" is ABSOLUTELY SMOKIN'!!!!!!

 

I like the 4th yellow and Ice White is definitely hot!
