Why you dont go drifting..
This actually happened a few weeks ago but I thought I would share my lesson with you guys. Anyway, I decided to pull the e-brake up in the neighborhood and I guess I didn't fully let go of the e-brake, the car kept sliding and went right into a sewage drain, yeah the ones that are 90 degrees and metal.
to top it off, the steering knuckle, hub + bearings, control arm had to be changed

Not a really smart move bro. Assuming you were on a public road, you could have hurt yourself AND someone else really seriously. Especially with snow covered streets...
Thank God you learned your lesson without any serious consequences.

It was a small street, but I made sure I was in the clear, or at least I thought I was good. But you guys don't understand, out here in Colorado you have nothing to do. I know it wasn't a smart thing to do, but yeah believe me the lesson has been learned.

But to me, having "nothing to do" is NOT a valid reason to do something like this on a PUBLIC ROAD. Anything can happen on a public road. Especially one covered with SNOW. These are the most dangerous types of situations because first of all, he had no control of his surroundings (obviously). Second, he had no control of his own car. Frankly, it was dumb.
But once again, I'm glad no one was hurt.

I'm not bashing him.

i was anxious to hear what compelled him to try something like this on a snow covered public road in a TL nonetheless.

That my friend...is an expensive lesson to learn! Be happy your airbags didn't go off...Now that would have been F'DDD up!! Ya live and learn...
No one should be bashing him to begin with...everyone on this site has done dumbshit at one time or another. Speed limits are posted on PUBLIC roads for a reason, No one can tell me they drive the speed limit on every street allllll the time. So before anyone goes and points the finger at this dude, point it at yourself also. So everyone needs to keep the "public" street bs to themselves cause no one on here is an angel I'm sure.

Ouch. Glad the damage isn't too bad. Could this be a catalyst to a new set of rims?
Gotta say though, when we had a little bit of snow/ice a couple of weeks back I did this as well (given it was in a parking lot).

I'm sure he didn't post this to get bashed by hypocrits. He posted it to show an expensive mistake and to let others learn from his mis-hap.

I've done plenty of dumbshit in my life of driving. But I'm not the one here talking about Ouuuu "public" road this and that.

Yea I've done dumb stuff too while driving but in parking lots, closed off spaces, etc... Not on a public road. I guess I'm harsher because my 6 year old cousin's life was cut short by some asshole who decided to turn on my block going 45mph. He lost control and my cousin was crossing the street at that very moment. You and anybody else can call me a hypocrite, but I would never do something this stupid while driving on a public road.

Granted I go 10mph to 15mph faster than the posted speed limits on the highway, but it's just the particular circumstances that the OP posted. Local road, snow covered... Most people are afraid to drift on a dry road and he's doing this on a snow covered one. I'm actually shocked most of you guys aren't grasping the seriousness of this.
Oh well.
