ok FINALLY took some installed pics, i did them during a lunch break at work so my windshield shade is up for most of them making it look darker inside.
the wheel was expensive but was worth every penny!!! it feels so good driving with it and adds a great touch to the interior. the red is very sharp but doesn't stick out, and blends in perfect with the type s theme. i HIGHLY recommend this mod to anyone that is thinking about it, you will not regret it.
Wheel details:
company: dallassteeringwheel.com (they did a few other members on here as well...Don is a stand up guy and does GREAT work, and fast)
price: about $400 (expensive but you feel it everyday...)
details: perforated sides, nappa leather top and bottom, red baseball stitch, 1/8" padding
and some more pics of my hydrodipped engine bay (carbon fiber) and my newly installed AEM V2.
been contemplating getting the red RV6 strut bar to match the theme but haven't been able to pull the trigger on it yet

also got my front tint changed from 70% to 35% since I don't park anymore in the vanpool parking lot where a lazy cop gave fix it tickets left and right when people were away at work
thanks! yea i was worried about how the stitching would be red vs. black, but glad i went with red, it's eye catching but not obtrusive
thanks!
think you got me mixed up with someone else i have no plans for caliper covers for the rear. i saw you talking to someone else in another thread about that but i forgot who

Wow, love the steering wheel and I'm jealous of the engine bay.

Ive never been sold so easily on something by pics alone. I want that wheel!!!!! Jesus, its beautiful. As I was driving my car today holding on to my slippery worn out wheel i almost rear ended the car in front of me day dreaming about yours.
The wheel was $400, what did you pay for install? and where did you go? dealer?

^^he put it in himself. From what I've read, it isn't too difficult. I was also quoted a half hour of labor to do it at my local Acura dealer, so if/when I get a custom wheel, I just may have them do it to avoid any potential headaches.

i couldn't get my wheel to line up exactly straight after re-installing it a few times (i can be pretty anal about some things) so i got it as close as i could and then took it to firestone and under my lifetime alignment got them to straighten out the steering wheel (they straightened the wheel then changed the toe back to 0 ).
it's a pretty easy process to change it out, you could definitely do it yourself. rather than hitting the wheel off it's spline with a mallet and rags from behind, you could just go to any auto store and rent a steering wheel puller for free
if you happen to need a spare wheel so there is no downtime, i'm going to be selling mine soon on the BM.

I'll ditto everyone else and say the wheel looks great. I'm really digging the engine bay look you have going too. Ever think about just wrapping your existing strut bar in red vinyl to get that look you mentioned?

haha hilarious
the red stitching weighs less than the black though
thanks! i thought about using the metalcast spray paint lineup to change the look of the strut bar and the other blue caps in the engine bay. it's a spray on chrome base layer, then you put on a red coat and it looks like anodized red. i'm just not the best at spray painting and worried it won't look good...

i really owe some updates to this thread! i'll try to get some new pics up soon
thanks, it's a great mod that you notice and feel the benefit of every time you drive!
there are a few options. you can:
a) send in your current wheel
b) see if they have any extra wheels in stock and then sell yours when the wrapped one comes in
c) buy a wheel off ebay (can get it for less than 100) and either send in the ebay one or yours and sell your extra one after. this is the route i took, and sold my extra one on the BM

cool thanks for the tips
curious now about your exhaust choice - why xlr8 over atlp?
Would you choose xlr8 again if you could?
I like the atlp look - mostly I want aesthetics with some G35 grumble.....
Still searching for ideal setup
Lastly you mentioned the steering wheel as one of your top 3 mods - what are the other 2?
your car is so nice too btw - I used to have a WDP and a piece of me died when I traded it for the MDX 5 years ago
